Father's Day afternoon found Layden sitting on the lanai, looking at the ocean and talking to family on the phone. This is one of his favorite things to do. Layden had a wonderful day. He delivered a great sermon to the Fort DeRussy congregation, was treated to brunch by a delightful group of widows in that congregation who all think he is "dear and charming," and got homemade chile rellenos for dinner. He was well-remembered with cards and gifts from children and grandchildren. And he got to talk to many family members - we are SO grateful for Skype and cell phones that make staying in touch with our family easy and affordable. I think that was the best part of his day. He is grateful for the relationships he has and for the opportunity to be a Dad and a Grandpa. Each of his children hold a unique and individual place in his heart and he does not take for granted the honor that a day like today represents.
ALOHA

What is it about Hawaii that makes people soooo relaxed?! Layden looks like he is in Heaven. Happy Father's day to him!
